Construction Materials Testing, Environmental Services
DESCRIPTION
In 1992, K+A joined the team of ATEC/Kumar to provide quality control and soils and materials testing at Coors Field. The project included:
Placing 63,000 cubic yards of concrete,
Performing 2,300 temperature, slump, air, and unit weight tests,
Testing 9,200 concrete specimens,
Excavating 181,000 cubic yards,
Testing 86,000 cubic yards of fill for classification, moisture, and density, and backfilling.
K+A also performed a dewatering study for a 70-foot by 82-foot storm water vault that collects and stores between 95 and 190 gpm of storm water runoff from the playing field.
The study addressed the installation of well points and sheet piling prior to excavating approximately 30 feet, about 5 feet below the existing ground water level.
